The bill would amend the Election Code, Section 501.035 to allow local election issues related to alcoholic beverages to include a ballot for the legal sale of beer and wine or mixed beverages in restaurants with food and beverage certificates only. The bill would take effect September 1, 2009. This analysis assumes the implementation of the bills provisions could be absorbed with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commissions (TABC) current appropriations. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
