A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the coordinated health program for elementary, middle,
and junior high school students.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 38.013, Chapter 38, Education
Code, is amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
(d) The commissioner may award grants to a school
district for the purposes of this section. A grant awarded under
this section may be funded using any available federal or state
funds. The commissioner may require that grants be matched using
local funds, including donations.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1,
2009.
