| 12 | 12 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 13 | 13 | SECTION 1. Section 25.1102(c), Government Code, is amended | |
| 14 | 14 | to read as follows: | |
| 15 | 15 | (c) The judge of a county court at law shall be paid a | |
| 16 | 16 | minimum [an] annual salary that is not less than $1,000 less than | |
| 17 | 17 | the total annual salary, including supplements, received by a | |
| 18 | 18 | district judge in the county. The judge of a county court at law may | |
| 19 | 19 | be paid more than the minimum annual salary that the judge is | |
| 20 | 20 | required to be paid under this subsection. The salary of a county | |
| 21 | 21 | court at law judge shall be paid in the same manner and from the same | |
| 22 | 22 | fund as prescribed by law for the county judge of Hidalgo County. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. | |
