8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 547.305, Transportation Code, is amended | |
10 | 10 | by amending Subsection (c) and adding Subsection (c-1) to read as | |
11 | 11 | follows: | |
12 | 12 | (c) A person may not operate a motor vehicle equipped with a | |
13 | 13 | red or[,] white[, or blue] beacon, flashing, or alternating light | |
14 | 14 | unless the equipment is: | |
15 | 15 | (1) used as specifically authorized by this chapter; | |
16 | 16 | or | |
17 | 17 | (2) a running lamp, headlamp, taillamp, backup lamp, | |
18 | 18 | or turn signal lamp that is used as authorized by law. | |
19 | 19 | (c-1) A person may not operate a motor vehicle, other than | |
20 | 20 | an authorized emergency vehicle, equipped with a blue light. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009. |
