 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to operation of a motor vehicle equipped with a blue light.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1. Section 547.305, Transportation Code, is amended
 by amending Subsection (c) and adding Subsection (c-1) to read as
 follows:
 (c) A person may not operate a motor vehicle equipped with a
 red or[,] white[, or blue] beacon, flashing, or alternating light
 unless the equipment is:
 (1) used as specifically authorized by this chapter;
 or
 (2) a running lamp, headlamp, taillamp, backup lamp,
 or turn signal lamp that is used as authorized by law.
 (c-1)  A person may not operate a motor vehicle, other than
 an authorized emergency vehicle, equipped with a blue light.
 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.
