| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Mary |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Ammons Fisher of Paris, Texas, who died on March 9, 2009, at the age |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | of 89; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mary Ammons was born in Paris on November 16, 1919, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | to Jess and Augusta "Gussie" Burger Ammons; after graduating from |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Paris High School, she attended Paris Junior College; she worked at |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Camp Maxey during World War II and went on to work at the Veterans |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Administration; in 1948, she was joined in matrimony to George |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Oscar Fisher, Jr., and they enjoyed a long life together until his |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | death in 2006; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Fisher worked for the Texas Employment |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Commission and later moved on to the local office of the Social |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Security Administration, where she retired after 15 years of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | service in 1975; she was an active member of Calvary United |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Methodist Church; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Although Mary Fisher will be deeply missed, she will |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | be fondly remembered by those whose lives were touched by her |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | affection and friendship; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | hereby pay tribute to the life of Mary Ammons Fisher and extend |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her sons, Brady |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Alan Fisher and George Kim Fisher and his wife, Rhonda; to her |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | grandson, Christopher Fisher; to her brother-in-law, T. F. Pretre; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 30 | 30 | | prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |

| 31 | 31 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary Ammons |
