44 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
55 WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Mary
66 Ammons Fisher of Paris, Texas, who died on March 9, 2009, at the age
77 of 89; and
88 WHEREAS, Mary Ammons was born in Paris on November 16, 1919,
99 to Jess and Augusta "Gussie" Burger Ammons; after graduating from
1010 Paris High School, she attended Paris Junior College; she worked at
1111 Camp Maxey during World War II and went on to work at the Veterans
1212 Administration; in 1948, she was joined in matrimony to George
1313 Oscar Fisher, Jr., and they enjoyed a long life together until his
1414 death in 2006; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mrs. Fisher worked for the Texas Employment
1616 Commission and later moved on to the local office of the Social
1717 Security Administration, where she retired after 15 years of
1818 service in 1975; she was an active member of Calvary United
1919 Methodist Church; and
2020 WHEREAS, Although Mary Fisher will be deeply missed, she will
2121 be fondly remembered by those whose lives were touched by her
2222 affection and friendship; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
2424 hereby pay tribute to the life of Mary Ammons Fisher and extend
2525 sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her sons, Brady
2626 Alan Fisher and George Kim Fisher and his wife, Rhonda; to her
2727 grandson, Christopher Fisher; to her brother-in-law, T. F. Pretre;
2828 and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
3131 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary Ammons
3232 Fisher.
