55 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
66 WHEREAS, The general convention of delegates of the people of
77 Texas meeting at Washington-on-the-Brazos adopted the Texas
88 Declaration of Independence on March 2, 1836; and
99 WHEREAS, The Texas Legislature has designated March 2 of each
1010 year as Texas Independence Day and declared that date to be a state
1111 holiday; now, therefore, be it
1212 RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
1313 hereby direct the State Preservation Board to reserve the Capitol
1414 Rotunda for an organized Texas Independence Day celebration on
1515 March 2 of each year; and, be it further
1616 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1717 forwarded to the executive director of the State Preservation Board
1818 as an expression of the sentiment of the Texas Legislature.
