5	5	WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Gratie
6	6	Mae Potts of Clarksville, who died on March 19, 2009, at the age of
7	7	88; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Born on August 21, 1920, to Berry and Effie Trimble
9	9	Thompson in Clarksville, the former Gratie Mae Thompson was joined
10	10	in marriage with Willie D. Potts, and they enjoyed a rewarding
11	11	relationship until Mr. Potts passed away; the couple raised a
12	12	family of eight children, Janet, Ester, Brenda, Gloria, Samuel,
13	13	Betty, Franklin, and Willie, with the latter three children
14	14	preceding Mrs. Potts in death; through the years, she saw her family
15	15	grow to include 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 5
16	16	great-great-grandchildren; and
17	17	WHEREAS, Mrs. Potts was a lifelong member of Zion Traveler
18	18	Baptist Church in Clarksville, where she shared in the
19	19	companionship and good cheer of her fellow congregants; and
20	20	WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, Gratie Mae Potts
21	21	leaves her loved ones with a wealth of fond memories of the happy
22	22	times they spent in her company; now, therefore, be it
23	23	RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
24	24	hereby pay tribute to the life of Gratie Mae Potts and extend
25	25	sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her children,
26	26	Janet Porter, Ester Barber, Brenda Wilburn, Gloria Barber, and
27	27	Samuel Potts; to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and
28	28	great-great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends;
29	29	and, be it further
30	30	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
31	31	prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
32	32	Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
33	33	Gratie Mae Potts.
