44 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
55 WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Lessie
66 Nelson of Mount Vernon, who passed away on April 5, 2009, at the age
77 of 95; and
88 WHEREAS, Born in Greenwood, Arkansas, on October 17, 1913,
99 Lessie Nelson was the daughter of James F. Bartlett and Claria
1010 Boswell; she enjoyed a rewarding marriage with her husband, Dave,
1111 until his passing in 2006; the couple were blessed with a fine
1212 family that grew to include four children, Bettie, Buddy, Garry,
1313 and Veda Sue, as well as six grandchildren and numerous great- and
1414 great-great-grandchildren; and
1515 WHEREAS, Although Lessie Nelson is deeply missed, her loved
1616 ones may take comfort in memories of the many happy times that they
1717 spent in her company; now, therefore, be it
1818 RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
1919 hereby pay tribute to the life of Lessie Nelson and extend sincere
2020 sympathy to the members of her family: to her children, Bettie
2121 Nelson, Milroy "Buddy" Nelson, Garry Nelson, and Veda Sue Nelson;
2222 to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and
2323 great-great-grandchildren; to her sisters, Ellen Cayton, Jewel
2424 Freeze, and Omega Smith; and to her other relatives and friends;
2525 and, be it further
2626 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2727 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
2828 Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
2929 Lessie Nelson.
