| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Hazel |

| 6 | 6 | | Keith Schmitter of Cooper, who passed away on April 22, 2009, at the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | age of 84; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born on December 5, 1924, to Louis Monroe and Pearl |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Owen Taylor, the former Hazel Taylor graduated from Cooper High |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | School; she married Robert Edwin Schmitter in 1942, and the couple |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | enjoyed a rewarding marriage until Mr. Schmitter passed away in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 1966; they were the parents of one son, Woodson Merrick Schmitter, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | who preceded his mother in death; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Schmitter worked for Sears, for Cantrell |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Chevrolet, and at the Cooper Review, in addition to spending 25 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | years with Abernathy Chevrolet; she was a member of First United |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Methodist Church of Cooper and United Methodist Women as well as |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | being a member and lay representative of the Delta County Public |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Library; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Although she is deeply missed, Hazel Schmitter led a |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | full and purposeful life, and she leaves her loved ones with |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | countless happy recollections of the time they spent in her |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | company; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | hereby pay tribute to the memory of Hazel Keith Schmitter and extend |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her sisters, Laura |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Jo Taylor and Evelyn Cechan and her husband, Henry; and to her other |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 30 | 30 | | prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |

| 31 | 31 | | Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of |
