44 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
55 WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Hazel
66 Keith Schmitter of Cooper, who passed away on April 22, 2009, at the
77 age of 84; and
88 WHEREAS, Born on December 5, 1924, to Louis Monroe and Pearl
99 Owen Taylor, the former Hazel Taylor graduated from Cooper High
1010 School; she married Robert Edwin Schmitter in 1942, and the couple
1111 enjoyed a rewarding marriage until Mr. Schmitter passed away in
1212 1966; they were the parents of one son, Woodson Merrick Schmitter,
1313 who preceded his mother in death; and
1414 WHEREAS, Mrs. Schmitter worked for Sears, for Cantrell
1515 Chevrolet, and at the Cooper Review, in addition to spending 25
1616 years with Abernathy Chevrolet; she was a member of First United
1717 Methodist Church of Cooper and United Methodist Women as well as
1818 being a member and lay representative of the Delta County Public
1919 Library; and
2020 WHEREAS, Although she is deeply missed, Hazel Schmitter led a
2121 full and purposeful life, and she leaves her loved ones with
2222 countless happy recollections of the time they spent in her
2323 company; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
2525 hereby pay tribute to the memory of Hazel Keith Schmitter and extend
2626 sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her sisters, Laura
2727 Jo Taylor and Evelyn Cechan and her husband, Henry; and to her other
2828 relatives and friends; and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
3131 Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
3232 Hazel Schmitter.
