8 | 8 | | Training Corps, has been named the U.S. Army Cadet Command's Army |

9 | 9 | | Noncommissioned Officer of the Year for 2009; and |

10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Sergeant King was nominated by Cadet Command, the |

11 | 11 | | parent organization of Army ROTC, along with NCO leaders around the |

12 | 12 | | globe, and he participated in tests on a number of military tasks, |
---|
13 | 13 | | including map reading, rifle qualification, and physical |
---|
14 | 14 | | conditioning, to win the honor; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A member of the armed forces for 14 years, Sergeant |
---|
16 | 16 | | King has served in several leadership roles in infantry battalions, |

17 | 17 | | earning such awards as the Army Commendation Medal and the Army |
---|
18 | 18 | | Achievement Medal; in addition to his professional endeavors, he |

19 | 19 | | shares his time and talents as an assistant scout master for Boy |
---|
20 | 20 | | Scout Troop 544 in Lubbock; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Sergeant King has set the |

22 | 22 | | highest standards of excellence in the execution of his duties, and |

23 | 23 | | he has earned the appreciation of his fellow Texans; now, |

25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas |

26 | 26 | | hereby congratulate Sergeant First Class Corey J. King on being |
