| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Adam Taylor of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 924 in |

| 7 | 7 | | Houston has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |

| 8 | 8 | | accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |

| 10 | 10 | | honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | criteria, Mr. Taylor earned the requisite 21 merit badges and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | community, for which he oversaw the construction of a permanent |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | shade arbor and picnic tables at St. Mark's United Methodist |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Church; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The son of Alex and Melissa Taylor, this fine young |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration of his |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank that scouting |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | offers; he is a member of the Baby Ocean of Soul Marching Band, the |

| 22 | 22 | | golf team, and "The Gents" social service organization at Booker T. |

| 23 | 23 | | Washington High School for the Engineering Professions, where he |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | was sophomore class president, and he serves as an usher and sings |

| 25 | 25 | | in the choir at St. Mark's United Methodist Church; and |

| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Taylor's dedication to excellence and |

| 27 | 27 | | his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy |

| 28 | 28 | | to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with |

| 29 | 29 | | pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas |

| 31 | 31 | | hereby congratulate Adam Taylor on achieving the rank of Eagle |
