55 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
66 WHEREAS, Adam Taylor of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 924 in
77 Houston has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this
88 accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and
99 WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant
1010 honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the
1111 scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding
1212 criteria, Mr. Taylor earned the requisite 21 merit badges and
1313 successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his
1414 community, for which he oversaw the construction of a permanent
1515 shade arbor and picnic tables at St. Mark's United Methodist
1616 Church; and
1717 WHEREAS, The son of Alex and Melissa Taylor, this fine young
1818 Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout
1919 his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration of his
2020 fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank that scouting
2121 offers; he is a member of the Baby Ocean of Soul Marching Band, the
2222 golf team, and "The Gents" social service organization at Booker T.
2323 Washington High School for the Engineering Professions, where he
2424 was sophomore class president, and he serves as an usher and sings
2525 in the choir at St. Mark's United Methodist Church; and
2626 WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Taylor's dedication to excellence and
2727 his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy
2828 to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with
2929 pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
3030 RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
3131 hereby congratulate Adam Taylor on achieving the rank of Eagle
3232 Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success
3333 and happiness; and, be it further
3434 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3535 prepared for Mr. Taylor as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3636 House of Representatives and Senate.
