 CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 WHEREAS, Adam Taylor of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 924 in
 Houston has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this
 accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and
 WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant
 honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the
 scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding
 criteria, Mr. Taylor earned the requisite 21 merit badges and
 successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his
 community, for which he oversaw the construction of a permanent
 shade arbor and picnic tables at St. Mark's United Methodist
 Church; and
 WHEREAS, The son of Alex and Melissa Taylor, this fine young
 Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout
 his scouting career, winning the respect and admiration of his
 fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank that scouting
 offers; he is a member of the Baby Ocean of Soul Marching Band, the
 golf team, and "The Gents" social service organization at Booker T.
 Washington High School for the Engineering Professions, where he
 was sophomore class president, and he serves as an usher and sings
 in the choir at St. Mark's United Methodist Church; and
 WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Taylor's dedication to excellence and
 his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy
 to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with
 pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
 hereby congratulate Adam Taylor on achieving the rank of Eagle
 Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success
 and happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Taylor as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives and Senate.
