44 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
55 WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the profound sorrow
66 felt at the loss of Tye James Parrish, who passed away on May 24,
77 2009, at the age of 26; and
88 WHEREAS, Born on June 8, 1982, Tye Parrish graduated from the
99 Booker T. Washington Academy for the Performing Arts in Dallas and
1010 went on to further his education with a degree in marine engineering
1111 from Texas A&M University at Galveston; he was a platoon leader in
1212 the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps during college and served
1313 as squadron leader, PTO, and drill instructor in the Navy Corps of
1414 Cadets; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mr. Parrish enjoyed a variety of leisure pursuits,
1616 and he was a skilled musician, cyclist, and outdoorsman; he married
1717 his high school sweetheart, the former Sarah Tucker, after his
1818 graduation from Texas A&M, and the couple moved to Hawaii, where Mr.
1919 Parrish performed contract engineering work for the U.S. Air Force;
2020 in addition, he worked for Cisco Systems and Raytheon and was
2121 employed at Technip USA after moving back to Texas; he was a man of
2222 great faith and was a member of St. Rita Parish; and
2323 WHEREAS, Although his life was far too brief, memories of
2424 this kind and caring young man will forever endure in the hearts of
2525 those who were privileged to share in his love and friendship; now,
2626 therefore, be it
2727 RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
2828 hereby pay tribute to the life of Tye James Parrish and extend
2929 sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Sarah
3030 Tucker Parrish; to his parents, Nancy Turner and her husband,
3131 Patrick, and Jeffery Parrish; to his sisters, Madeline Frost and
3232 her husband, Mark, and Abby Turner; to his grandfathers, James
3333 Hardwick and Jerry Parrish; to his nephew, Maximus Frost; to his
3434 in-laws, Colleen and David Tucker; and to his other relatives and
3535 many friends; and, be it further
3636 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3737 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3838 Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
3939 Tye Parrish.
