 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the profound sorrow
 felt at the loss of Tye James Parrish, who passed away on May 24,
 2009, at the age of 26; and
 WHEREAS, Born on June 8, 1982, Tye Parrish graduated from the
 Booker T. Washington Academy for the Performing Arts in Dallas and
 went on to further his education with a degree in marine engineering
 from Texas A&M University at Galveston; he was a platoon leader in
 the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps during college and served
 as squadron leader, PTO, and drill instructor in the Navy Corps of
 Cadets; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Parrish enjoyed a variety of leisure pursuits,
 and he was a skilled musician, cyclist, and outdoorsman; he married
 his high school sweetheart, the former Sarah Tucker, after his
 graduation from Texas A&M, and the couple moved to Hawaii, where Mr.
 Parrish performed contract engineering work for the U.S. Air Force;
 in addition, he worked for Cisco Systems and Raytheon and was
 employed at Technip USA after moving back to Texas; he was a man of
 great faith and was a member of St. Rita Parish; and
 WHEREAS, Although his life was far too brief, memories of
 this kind and caring young man will forever endure in the hearts of
 those who were privileged to share in his love and friendship; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the 81st Legislature of the State of Texas
 hereby pay tribute to the life of Tye James Parrish and extend
 sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Sarah
 Tucker Parrish; to his parents, Nancy Turner and her husband,
 Patrick, and Jeffery Parrish; to his sisters, Madeline Frost and
 her husband, Mark, and Abby Turner; to his grandfathers, James
 Hardwick and Jerry Parrish; to his nephew, Maximus Frost; to his
 in-laws, Colleen and David Tucker; and to his other relatives and
 many friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
 Tye Parrish.
