44 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
55 WHEREAS, Leadership Kerr County, a project of Schreiner
66 University and the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce, is
77 graduating its 24th class in 2009; and
88 WHEREAS, This exceptional nine-month program was established
99 in 1985 to provide opportunities for participants to increase their
1010 knowledge of vital public issues, including economic development,
1111 social services, education, government, and health care; and
1212 WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a
1313 diverse membership with personal leadership training, networking
1414 opportunities, and instruction from influential figures from both
1515 the public and private sectors; and
1616 WHEREAS, The program has graduated a number of notable area
1717 leaders, including former Kerrville mayor Stephen Fine, former
1818 Kerrville councilman David Wampler, county judge Pat Tinley, former
1919 county judge Fred Henneke, district court judge Stephen Ables, and
2020 former county attorney David Motley; and
2121 WHEREAS, The 2009 class includes Cassie Alex, Brenda Bailey,
2222 Tammi Clanton-Elmore, Niki Cobb, Jennifer Coleman, Kevin Coleman,
2323 Carson Conklin, Jason Davis, Mark Del Toro, Cherl Delgado, Jennifer
2424 Farhoudi, Lupe Garcia, Mike Huff, Betty Hughey, Elizabeth Loggie,
2525 Brett McDowell, Clint Morris, Benny Pena, Ken Richter, Ginger Roan,
2626 Bart Stevens, Joy Thomas, Kristy Vandenberg, Patrick Wilt, Robin
2727 Gutierrez, Tim Lidiak, Liz Murray, Vicki Harbor, Joe Piszezor,
2828 Cheri' Rue, Amy Armstrong, Rusty Garvin, Kyle Bond, Bill Amerine,
2929 Brian Bondy, Todd Bock, and H. A. "Buster" Baldwin; and
3030 WHEREAS, Endeavoring to foster a more informed and involved
3131 citizenry and to develop new leaders in Kerr County, the program is
3232 helping to build a brighter and more promising future for the Lone
3333 Star State; now, therefore, be it
3434 RESOLVED, That the 81st Texas Legislature hereby welcome
3535 Leadership Kerr County to the State Capitol and extend to all
3636 participants sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
3737 further
3838 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3939 prepared for Leadership Kerr County as an expression of high regard
4040 by the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
