5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Leadership Kerr County, a project of Schreiner |

6 | 6 | | University and the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce, is |

7 | 7 | | graduating its 24th class in 2009; and |

8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, This exceptional nine-month program was established |

9 | 9 | | in 1985 to provide opportunities for participants to increase their |
---|
10 | 10 | | knowledge of vital public issues, including economic development, |
---|
11 | 11 | | social services, education, government, and health care; and |
---|
12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a |
---|
13 | 13 | | diverse membership with personal leadership training, networking |
---|
14 | 14 | | opportunities, and instruction from influential figures from both |
---|
15 | 15 | | the public and private sectors; and |
---|
16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The program has graduated a number of notable area |

17 | 17 | | leaders, including former Kerrville mayor Stephen Fine, former |

18 | 18 | | Kerrville councilman David Wampler, county judge Pat Tinley, former |
---|
19 | 19 | | county judge Fred Henneke, district court judge Stephen Ables, and |

20 | 20 | | former county attorney David Motley; and |

21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The 2009 class includes Cassie Alex, Brenda Bailey, |
