| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Leadership Kerr County, a project of Schreiner |

| 6 | 6 | | University and the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce, is |

| 7 | 7 | | graduating its 24th class in 2009; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, This exceptional nine-month program was established |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | in 1985 to provide opportunities for participants to increase their |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | knowledge of vital public issues, including economic development, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | social services, education, government, and health care; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | diverse membership with personal leadership training, networking |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | opportunities, and instruction from influential figures from both |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the public and private sectors; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The program has graduated a number of notable area |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | leaders, including former Kerrville mayor Stephen Fine, former |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Kerrville councilman David Wampler, county judge Pat Tinley, former |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | county judge Fred Henneke, district court judge Stephen Ables, and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | former county attorney David Motley; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The 2009 class includes Cassie Alex, Brenda Bailey, |

| 22 | 22 | | Tammi Clanton-Elmore, Niki Cobb, Jennifer Coleman, Kevin Coleman, |
