44 A JOINT RESOLUTION
55 proposing a constitutional amendment to allow the legislature to

88 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 30(c), Article XVI, Texas Constitution,
1010 is amended to read as follows:
1111 (c) The Legislature may provide that members of the
1212 governing board of a district or authority created by authority of
1313 Article III, Section 48-e, Article III, Section 52(b)(1) or (2), or
1414 Article XVI, Section 59, of this Constitution serve terms not to
1515 exceed four years.
1616 SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be
1717 submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 3, 2009.
1818 The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the
1919 proposition: "The constitutional amendment to provide that elected
2020 members of the governing boards of emergency services districts may
2121 serve terms not to exceed four years."
