H.R. No. 1068
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The prosperity of communities in the Lone Star State
depends in large part on the success of locally owned and operated
businesses such as Kirby's Lone Star Smokehouse in Montgomery; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 2006 by Andy and Paulette Kirby, their
sons, Trey and Chad, and their daughters-in-law, Mallory and
Kristen, Kirby's Lone Star Smokehouse quickly became a local
favorite, with its traditional Texas barbecue menu and its
authentic ambience; and
WHEREAS, In January of 2009, Kirby's Smokehouse opened in a
new location on Highway 105, and the facility was built and equipped
by a local construction business, further contributing to the
area's economy; and
WHEREAS, The Kirbys have been residents of Montgomery for
more than 20 years, and their strong ties to the community have
helped to make the restaurant a popular destination for residents
and visitors alike; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby commend Kirby's Lone Star Smokehouse for its
contributions to the Montgomery community and extend to the Kirby
family sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the restaurant as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
