| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |

| 6 | 6 | | and shared experiences, and Bob and Betty Thrasher of Temple |

| 7 | 7 | | celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on February 6, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 2009; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Robert M. Thrasher, Sr., and the former Betty Ann |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Tapman were joined in matrimony on that special day in 1949, at |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | First Baptist Church in Rosebud; through the years, they have been |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | blessed with a treasured family that includes two sons, Robert M. |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Thrasher, Jr., and his wife Tammi, and Dr. Michael Tapman Thrasher |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and his wife, Patti Jean, as well as two grandchildren and two |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A veteran of World War II, Mr. Thrasher enjoyed a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | long and rewarding career in automobile sales and owned and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | operated his own dealership in Gatesville for a time; Mrs. Thrasher |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | worked as an area manager in the cosmetics industry for 35 years and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | opened specialty boutiques in Gatesville and Temple; she and Mr. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Thrasher are now both retired; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, This devoted couple have enjoyed six decades of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Bob and Betty Thrasher on the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them |

| 29 | 29 | | sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
