| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Craig Van Amburgh was honored by the Heritage of |

| 6 | 6 | | Odessa Foundation with a 2009 Community Statesman Award in |

| 7 | 7 | | recognition of his outstanding civic contributions; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Every year for the past quarter-century, the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Heritage of Odessa Foundation has paid tribute to individuals who |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | have excelled in their various fields and in their public service |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | endeavors; nominated by their fellow citizens and chosen by a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | special committee, the 13 recipients have volunteered their time |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and resources to support Odessa and its residents; in 2009, Mr. Van |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Amburgh was selected for this accolade in the category of community |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | service; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Van Amburgh has been the president of CVA |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Advertising and Marketing, Ltd., since 1991, and he has been |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | actively involved in numerous local organizations, including the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Odessa Downtown Rotary Club, the Permian Basin Advertising |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Federation, the Education Foundation, and the Permian Playhouse; he |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | serves on the boards of the Odessa Industrial Development |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Corporation and the Odessa Chamber of Commerce, and he was inducted |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | into the chamber's Business Hall of Fame in 2006; he has also been |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | recognized with the Cultural Council Volunteer of the Year |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | designation by the Odessa Council for the Arts and Humanities; and |

| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan has demonstrated an unwavering |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | commitment to his profession and to the city of Odessa, and his |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | compassion and generosity are an inspiration to all who know him; |

| 29 | 29 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 31 | 31 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Craig Van Amburgh on his receipt of |
