H.R. No. 1099 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Craig Van Amburgh was honored by the Heritage of Odessa Foundation with a 2009 Community Statesman Award in recognition of his outstanding civic contributions; and WHEREAS, Every year for the past quarter-century, the Heritage of Odessa Foundation has paid tribute to individuals who have excelled in their various fields and in their public service endeavors; nominated by their fellow citizens and chosen by a special committee, the 13 recipients have volunteered their time and resources to support Odessa and its residents; in 2009, Mr. Van Amburgh was selected for this accolade in the category of community service; and WHEREAS, Mr. Van Amburgh has been the president of CVA Advertising and Marketing, Ltd., since 1991, and he has been actively involved in numerous local organizations, including the Odessa Downtown Rotary Club, the Permian Basin Advertising Federation, the Education Foundation, and the Permian Playhouse; he serves on the boards of the Odessa Industrial Development Corporation and the Odessa Chamber of Commerce, and he was inducted into the chamber's Business Hall of Fame in 2006; he has also been recognized with the Cultural Council Volunteer of the Year designation by the Odessa Council for the Arts and Humanities; and WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to his profession and to the city of Odessa, and his compassion and generosity are an inspiration to all who know him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Craig Van Amburgh on his receipt of a 2009 Community Statesman Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Van Amburgh as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
