R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Order of DeMolay Association is widely esteemed
for its success in developing leadership and in nurturing good
citizenship and patriotism in young men; and
WHEREAS, Members of the order have included such luminaries
as writer John Steinbeck, actor John Wayne, news anchor Walter
Cronkite, and astronaut Frank Borman; and
WHEREAS, An affiliate, the Texas DeMolay Association,
periodically sponsors a legislative seminar to educate its members
in the theory and practice of state government; and
WHEREAS, This rewarding educational program offers
participants across the state a unique opportunity to experience
and learn about the legislative process; and
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives heartily
endorses the goals and ideals of the Texas DeMolay Association
legislative seminar; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature, in accordance with the rules and policies of the
Committee on House Administration, hereby grant permission to the
Texas DeMolay Association to use the house chamber on February 21
and 22, 2009, provided that the house is not in session.
