| 6 | 6 | | Campion Trails greenbelt into Sam Houston Trail Park, which offers |

| 7 | 7 | | enhanced recreational opportunities for area residents; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Funded in part by the Dallas County Open Space |

| 9 | 9 | | Program, the new section of Campion Trails extends from T. W. |

| 10 | 10 | | Richardson Grove to Sam Houston Trail Park and provides a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | pedestrian link to the greenbelt for residents of the Valley Ranch |

| 12 | 12 | | development; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, New features such as vehicle parking areas, security |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | lighting, and drinking fountains were included in the project; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | moreover, picnic facilities, sports courts, and other amenities |

| 16 | 16 | | will be added in a second stage of construction; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, This new extension is an important addition to the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Campion Trails route, which will eventually form a 22-mile |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | greenbelt along the Elm Fork and West Fork of the Trinity River; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The creation of this impressive recreational trail |

| 21 | 21 | | system further boosts the quality of life in Irving and provides yet |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | another example of the positive civic projects that make the city a |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | great place to live and work; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the completion of the Campion Trails |

| 26 | 26 | | greenbelt extension to Sam Houston Trail Park in Irving and extend |
