44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, The City of Irving has completed an extension of the
66 Campion Trails greenbelt into Sam Houston Trail Park, which offers
77 enhanced recreational opportunities for area residents; and
88 WHEREAS, Funded in part by the Dallas County Open Space
99 Program, the new section of Campion Trails extends from T. W.
1010 Richardson Grove to Sam Houston Trail Park and provides a
1111 pedestrian link to the greenbelt for residents of the Valley Ranch
1212 development; and
1313 WHEREAS, New features such as vehicle parking areas, security
1414 lighting, and drinking fountains were included in the project;
1515 moreover, picnic facilities, sports courts, and other amenities
1616 will be added in a second stage of construction; and
1717 WHEREAS, This new extension is an important addition to the
1818 Campion Trails route, which will eventually form a 22-mile
1919 greenbelt along the Elm Fork and West Fork of the Trinity River; and
2020 WHEREAS, The creation of this impressive recreational trail
2121 system further boosts the quality of life in Irving and provides yet
2222 another example of the positive civic projects that make the city a
2323 great place to live and work; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2525 Legislature hereby commemorate the completion of the Campion Trails
2626 greenbelt extension to Sam Houston Trail Park in Irving and extend
2727 to all those involved with the project sincere best wishes for
2828 continued success.
