H.R. No. 1174 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The City of Irving has completed an extension of the Campion Trails greenbelt into Sam Houston Trail Park, which offers enhanced recreational opportunities for area residents; and WHEREAS, Funded in part by the Dallas County Open Space Program, the new section of Campion Trails extends from T. W. Richardson Grove to Sam Houston Trail Park and provides a pedestrian link to the greenbelt for residents of the Valley Ranch development; and WHEREAS, New features such as vehicle parking areas, security lighting, and drinking fountains were included in the project; moreover, picnic facilities, sports courts, and other amenities will be added in a second stage of construction; and WHEREAS, This new extension is an important addition to the Campion Trails route, which will eventually form a 22-mile greenbelt along the Elm Fork and West Fork of the Trinity River; and WHEREAS, The creation of this impressive recreational trail system further boosts the quality of life in Irving and provides yet another example of the positive civic projects that make the city a great place to live and work; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby commemorate the completion of the Campion Trails greenbelt extension to Sam Houston Trail Park in Irving and extend to all those involved with the project sincere best wishes for continued success.
