| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Michelle A. Cloud of Spring is receiving her doctor |

| 6 | 6 | | of philosophy degree in educational administration from Prairie |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | View A&M University in May 2009, and this significant achievement |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | indeed merits special recognition; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Distinguishing herself in her studies and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | dissertation research, Ms. Cloud has maintained a 4.0 grade point |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | average in her Ph.D. course work and draws on a well-rounded |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | educational background that includes a bachelor's degree in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | interdisciplinary studies from the University of Houston, where she |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | graduated cum laude, a master's degree in education from Prairie |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | View A&M, and additional studies in educational leadership and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | cultural issues at the University of St. Thomas; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, This veteran educator has extensive experience in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the classroom and as an administrator; she started as a teacher with |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the Aldine Independent School District in 1994 and went on to serve |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | as an assistant principal for grades six through eight in the Klein |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | ISD; since 2008, she has been the director of instruction for |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Campbell Middle School in the Cy-Fair ISD; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Cloud has authored or coauthored a long list of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | educational articles and has received numerous scholarship awards |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and the Galaxy of Excellence award from Klein ISD; moreover, she has |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | shared her expertise with others by teaching workshops and by |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | serving on a range of educational committees; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, An esteemed professional and scholar, Michelle |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Cloud has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to excellence |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | throughout her academic and teaching career, and it is a pleasure to |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | join in celebrating the conclusion of her doctoral studies; now, |

| 32 | 32 | | therefore, be it |

| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
