 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The third annual Oak Cliff Earth Day celebration is
 being held at Lake Cliff Park in Dallas on April 19, 2009; and
 WHEREAS, This outstanding community event is coordinated by
 area volunteers, with generous sponsorship by the City of Dallas
 Parks Department; a wide array of garden, conservation, civic,
 government, and other groups will be represented at the festival,
 which is designed to promote environmental awareness and encourage
 citizens to become knowledgeable stewards of our planet; and
 WHEREAS, The 2008 Oak Cliff Earth Day featured 120 exhibitors
 and drew 6,000 attendees; in recognition of the excellent program
 planned for the occasion and the large number of people who
 participated, the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce honored the
 organizing committee for last year's event with its Quality of Life
 award; and
 WHEREAS, Texans everywhere have a vital stake in the health
 of our environment, and Oak Cliff Earth Day is helping to inform and
 motivate citizens in behalf of a most worthy cause, while fostering
 a deeper appreciation for the astonishing wonders of the natural
 world; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby commemorate the celebration of Oak Cliff Earth
 Day 2009 and extend to all those associated with this stellar event
 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the Oak Cliff Earth Day Volunteer Committee as an
 expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
