| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The members of Richardson Republican Women have been |

| 6 | 6 | | presented with a David Dewhurst Texas Federation of Republican |

| 7 | 7 | | Women Award in honor of their work in the 2008 general election; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Richardson Republican Women tallied the most |

| 9 | 9 | | volunteer hours of any club of comparable size during the election |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | season, and this effort is typical of the enthusiastic work the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | organization has performed throughout its history; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Founded in 1958, Richardson Republican Women has |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | undertaken a wide range of efforts to promote positive change on the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | local, state, and national levels; these have included |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | community-focused outreach activities, literacy programs, and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | financial assistance projects for Texas public libraries; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, This hardworking group of civic leaders has |

| 18 | 18 | | demonstrated an unwavering commitment to strengthening involvement |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | in their community's electoral process, and this award justly |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | recognizes their dedication; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby honor Richardson Republican Women on its receipt |
