44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, The members of Richardson Republican Women have been
66 presented with a David Dewhurst Texas Federation of Republican
77 Women Award in honor of their work in the 2008 general election; and
88 WHEREAS, Richardson Republican Women tallied the most
99 volunteer hours of any club of comparable size during the election
1010 season, and this effort is typical of the enthusiastic work the
1111 organization has performed throughout its history; and
1212 WHEREAS, Founded in 1958, Richardson Republican Women has
1313 undertaken a wide range of efforts to promote positive change on the
1414 local, state, and national levels; these have included
1515 community-focused outreach activities, literacy programs, and
1616 financial assistance projects for Texas public libraries; and
1717 WHEREAS, This hardworking group of civic leaders has
1818 demonstrated an unwavering commitment to strengthening involvement
1919 in their community's electoral process, and this award justly
2020 recognizes their dedication; now, therefore, be it
2121 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2222 Legislature hereby honor Richardson Republican Women on its receipt
2323 of the David Dewhurst Texas Federation of Republican Women Award
2424 and extend to all those involved with the club sincere best wishes
2525 for the future; and, be it further
2626 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2727 prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
2828 Texas House of Representatives.
