H.R. No. 1232
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The members of Richardson Republican Women have been
presented with a David Dewhurst Texas Federation of Republican
Women Award in honor of their work in the 2008 general election; and
WHEREAS, Richardson Republican Women tallied the most
volunteer hours of any club of comparable size during the election
season, and this effort is typical of the enthusiastic work the
organization has performed throughout its history; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1958, Richardson Republican Women has
undertaken a wide range of efforts to promote positive change on the
local, state, and national levels; these have included
community-focused outreach activities, literacy programs, and
financial assistance projects for Texas public libraries; and
WHEREAS, This hardworking group of civic leaders has
demonstrated an unwavering commitment to strengthening involvement
in their community's electoral process, and this award justly
recognizes their dedication; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
Legislature hereby honor Richardson Republican Women on its receipt
of the David Dewhurst Texas Federation of Republican Women Award
and extend to all those involved with the club sincere best wishes
for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
