| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Lois |

| 6 | 6 | | Boles of Jacksonville, who passed away on March 19, 2009, at the age |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | of 92; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A Jacksonville native, Ms. Boles was born on March |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 9, 1917, to Sam and Gussie Mae Cunningham Boles; she graduated from |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Jacksonville High School and went on to earn a master's degree from |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Stephen F. Austin State University; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Lois Boles retired in 1983 following a notable |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 44-year career in the teaching profession, including 35 years in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Jacksonville schools; an engaged citizen, she enjoyed membership in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | a number of organizations, including the Texas Retired Teachers |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Association and Delta Kappa Gamma; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Strong in her faith, Ms. Boles was a longtime |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | congregant of First Baptist Church, where she taught the beginner's |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Sunday school class for more than a half-century; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Though she is deeply missed, Lois Boles will forever |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | be remembered with great admiration and affection by those |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | fortunate enough to have shared in the richness of her life; now, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | therefore, be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Lois Boles and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | cousins, Dolores McCord, Gordon Nunn, Tony and Jerrie Sue Cleaver, |

| 28 | 28 | | Mark and Sondra Kellar, David M. McCord, Shine Chancellor, Joy |

| 29 | 29 | | Bonjio, and Bess Koehnle; and to her other relatives and friends; |
