 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Lois
 Boles of Jacksonville, who passed away on March 19, 2009, at the age
 of 92; and
 WHEREAS, A Jacksonville native, Ms. Boles was born on March
 9, 1917, to Sam and Gussie Mae Cunningham Boles; she graduated from
 Jacksonville High School and went on to earn a master's degree from
 Stephen F. Austin State University; and
 WHEREAS, Lois Boles retired in 1983 following a notable
 44-year career in the teaching profession, including 35 years in
 Jacksonville schools; an engaged citizen, she enjoyed membership in
 a number of organizations, including the Texas Retired Teachers
 Association and Delta Kappa Gamma; and
 WHEREAS, Strong in her faith, Ms. Boles was a longtime
 congregant of First Baptist Church, where she taught the beginner's
 Sunday school class for more than a half-century; and
 WHEREAS, Though she is deeply missed, Lois Boles will forever
 be remembered with great admiration and affection by those
 fortunate enough to have shared in the richness of her life; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Lois Boles and
 extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
 cousins, Dolores McCord, Gordon Nunn, Tony and Jerrie Sue Cleaver,
 Mark and Sondra Kellar, David M. McCord, Shine Chancellor, Joy
 Bonjio, and Bess Koehnle; and to her other relatives and friends;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lois Boles.
