| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Ryan Andrew Kemnitz graduated from the U.S. Air |

| 6 | 6 | | Force Academy as a second lieutenant with a bachelor's degree in |

| 7 | 7 | | mechanical engineering on May 28, 2008; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The son of proud parents Dirk and Sharon Kemnitz, |

| 9 | 9 | | Ryan Kemnitz attended Strake Jesuit College Preparatory High School |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | in Houston, where he was a member of the varsity water polo team; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | during his high school career, his athletic prowess was rewarded |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | with recognition as an all-district water polo player in 2003 and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | his academic achievements earned him membership in the National |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Honor Society; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, He was appointed to the U.S. Air Force Academy in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | 2004, and he continued to play water polo for the academy's team |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | while studying for his undergraduate degree; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, The accomplishments of Ryan Kemnitz distinguish |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | this outstanding young Texan as an individual of great promise, and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | it is a pleasure to honor him as he prepares to embark on the next |

| 21 | 21 | | exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Second Lieutenant Ryan Andrew |
