| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Ronnie Scrima has earned the Boy Scouts' Heroism |

| 6 | 6 | | Award for saving a man's life in March 2008; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Now a junior at Tyler Street Christian Academy in |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Dallas, Mr. Scrima was living in Arlington at the time; while he was |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | getting his hair cut one day, one of the other customers, an elderly |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | man, stopped breathing; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Those around the gentleman called out in panic for |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | anyone who knew cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and Mr. Scrima, a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | member of Boy Scout Troop No. 235 in Arlington, immediately |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | volunteered to help; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Scrima, who earned one of his first Boy Scout |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | merit badges in first aid, quickly and skillfully revived the man, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and he continued to take care of him until the paramedics arrived; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan's composure, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | compassion, and mastery of an important lifesaving skill enabled |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | him to provide vital assistance to someone in need, and he is truly |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | deserving of this prestigious recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Ronnie Scrima on his receipt of the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Boy Scouts' Heroism Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | a bright future; and, be it further |
