44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the deep sorrow felt
66 at the loss of Susan Irene Thompson of Jacksonville, who passed away
77 on March 24, 2009, at the age of 53; and
88 WHEREAS, Born in Strongville, Ohio, on July 20, 1955, the
99 former Susan Goshorn was the daughter of James and Hilda Black
1010 Goshorn, and she enjoyed a rewarding marriage with her husband,
1111 Mark Thompson; and
1212 WHEREAS, Ms. Thompson was the loving mother of three
1313 children, Erik, Alex, and Jill, and devoted much of her time to
1414 caring for her family; she was also an involved member of her
1515 community as a congregant of First United Methodist Church of
1616 Jacksonville; and
1717 WHEREAS, Although she is deeply missed, Susan Thompson lived
1818 a caring and purposeful life and leaves her loved ones with
1919 countless fond memories of happy times spent in her company; now,
2020 therefore, be it
2121 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2222 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Susan Irene Thompson
2323 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
2424 husband, Mark Thompson; to her children, Erik Welch, Alex Thompson,
2525 and Jill Welch; to her mother, Hilda Goshorn; to her sister, Nancy
2626 Carrier; to her niece and nephew, Tony and Lisa Padua; to her
2727 mother-in-law, Mrs. George Thompson; to her sister-in-law, Sarah
2828 Vardeman and her husband, Pat, and their children, Candace and
2929 James; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
3030 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3131 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
3232 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Susan
3333 Thompson.
