| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the deep sorrow felt |

| 6 | 6 | | at the loss of Susan Irene Thompson of Jacksonville, who passed away |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | on March 24, 2009, at the age of 53; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born in Strongville, Ohio, on July 20, 1955, the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | former Susan Goshorn was the daughter of James and Hilda Black |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Goshorn, and she enjoyed a rewarding marriage with her husband, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Mark Thompson; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Thompson was the loving mother of three |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | children, Erik, Alex, and Jill, and devoted much of her time to |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | caring for her family; she was also an involved member of her |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | community as a congregant of First United Methodist Church of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Jacksonville; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Although she is deeply missed, Susan Thompson lived |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | a caring and purposeful life and leaves her loved ones with |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | countless fond memories of happy times spent in her company; now, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Susan Irene Thompson |

| 23 | 23 | | and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | husband, Mark Thompson; to her children, Erik Welch, Alex Thompson, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and Jill Welch; to her mother, Hilda Goshorn; to her sister, Nancy |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Carrier; to her niece and nephew, Tony and Lisa Padua; to her |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | mother-in-law, Mrs. George Thompson; to her sister-in-law, Sarah |
