 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Upton County Commissioners Court and the people
 of Upton County are celebrating the opening of the new West Texas
 Centers for MHMR Mental Health Center in McCamey on April 15, 2009;
 and
 WHEREAS, West Texas Centers for MHMR is a community agency
 that serves as the designated authority for the care of mental
 health and mental retardation in 22 rural counties in West Texas;
 there are 15 local clinics throughout the region; and
 WHEREAS, Each local clinic's services include evaluation,
 management, and counseling for adults' and children's mental
 health, day programs and employment assistance for persons with
 mental disabilities, and the Little Lives Early Childhood
 Intervention Program; and
 WHEREAS, In 2006, the Upton County Commissioners Court
 allocated funds for a larger building for the MHMR center in
 McCamey, which serves patients in Upton, Terrell, and Crane
 Counties; and
 WHEREAS, The center's new facility will house a full-time
 staff as well as employees who rotate between various clinics in the
 region; the larger building and its renovations will provide more
 space for the center's functions and more privacy for its clients;
 and
 WHEREAS, Led by Upton County Judge Vikki Bradley, who serves
 on the West Texas Centers board of trustees, the Upton County
 Commissioners Court includes commissioners Gary "Pete" Jackson,
 Tommy Owens, Willie Martinez, and Leon Patrick; together, they have
 helped to improve and enhance a vital service for many Texans in
 need, and they may take great pride in their role in the creation of
 this new facility; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Upton County Commissioners
 Court on the opening of the new West Texas Centers for MHMR Mental
 Health Center in McCamey and extend to the commissioners sincere
 best wishes for continued success in their important duties; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the Upton County Commissioners Court as an expression
 of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
