5	5	WHEREAS, Students, staff, and faculty of Houston Community
6	6	College--Southeast rendered invaluable aid to countless
7	7	individuals in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Steadfast in their dedication to the community, HCC
9	9	volunteers operated a FEMA point of distribution on campus that
10	10	provided easy access to vital supplies for residents of Houston's
11	11	East End; thanks to the assistance provided by these generous
12	12	Texans, many residents of the Bayou City were able to have their
13	13	vital food and water needs met; and
14	14	WHEREAS, Times of great crisis often inspire noble actions,
15	15	and Hurricane Ike proved to be no exception, as evidenced by the
16	16	extraordinary relief efforts of those associated with Houston
17	17	Community College--Southeast; now, therefore, be it
18	18	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
19	19	Legislature hereby commend the faculty, staff, and students of
20	20	Houston Community College--Southeast who participated in the
21	21	relief efforts following Hurricane Ike and extend to them sincere
22	22	gratitude for their hard work and dedication; and, be it further
23	23	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
24	24	prepared for the college as an expression of high regard by the
25	25	Texas House of Representatives.
