H.R. No. 1344 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Students, staff, and faculty of Houston Community College--Southeast rendered invaluable aid to countless individuals in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike; and WHEREAS, Steadfast in their dedication to the community, HCC volunteers operated a FEMA point of distribution on campus that provided easy access to vital supplies for residents of Houston's East End; thanks to the assistance provided by these generous Texans, many residents of the Bayou City were able to have their vital food and water needs met; and WHEREAS, Times of great crisis often inspire noble actions, and Hurricane Ike proved to be no exception, as evidenced by the extraordinary relief efforts of those associated with Houston Community College--Southeast; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby commend the faculty, staff, and students of Houston Community College--Southeast who participated in the relief efforts following Hurricane Ike and extend to them sincere gratitude for their hard work and dedication; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the college as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
