| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Ginger Tonne has made a positive difference in the |

| 6 | 6 | | lives of Richardson students as president of the Richardson |

| 7 | 7 | | Independent School District Council of Parent-Teacher |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Associations; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Organized in 1959, the council is made up of 56 local |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | PTA chapters, which award more than $50,000 in scholarships to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | students and teachers each year; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, In her role as head of the organization, Ms. Tonne is |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | responsible for directing many important PTA initiatives, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | including the Used Book Fair, Teens in Leadership Training, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Emergency Medical Fund, RISD Clothes Closet, and Car Seat Safety |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Project; in addition, she has helped to provide training for PTA |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | leadership and participated in the National PTA Reflections |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Program; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, She has further enriched area schools through her |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | support of the RISD College and Career Fair, RISD Council District |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Play, high school symphony program, and all-district choir |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | performances; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Ginger Tonne has brought diligence, ingenuity, and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | care to her work with the PTA, and the children of Richardson ISD |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | have truly benefited from her efforts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby honor Ginger Tonne, president of the Richardson |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Independent School District Council of Parent-Teacher |

| 29 | 29 | | Associations, for her service to Richardson schools and extend to |

| 30 | 30 | | her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
