| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jordan David Schmucker of Boy Scouts of America |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Troop No. 690 in San Antonio has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | and this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | criteria, Mr. Schmucker earned the requisite 21 merit badges, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | including those that require expertise in such diverse areas as |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | crime prevention, archery, and medicine, and he successfully |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his community, which |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | consisted in part of planting trees for Primarily Primates, an |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | animal sanctuary in Bexar County; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The son of Andrew Schmucker, this fine young Texan |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | scouting career; he is a recipient of the Arrow of Light award and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | has served his troop in such positions as vice president and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | co-captain, winning the respect and admiration of his fellow scouts |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | as he worked toward the highest rank that scouting offers; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Schmucker's dedication to excellence |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | worthy to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Jordan David Schmucker on |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best |

| 30 | 30 | | wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
