H.R. No. 1355 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Jordan David Schmucker of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 690 in San Antonio has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, Mr. Schmucker earned the requisite 21 merit badges, including those that require expertise in such diverse areas as crime prevention, archery, and medicine, and he successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his community, which consisted in part of planting trees for Primarily Primates, an animal sanctuary in Bexar County; and WHEREAS, The son of Andrew Schmucker, this fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his scouting career; he is a recipient of the Arrow of Light award and has served his troop in such positions as vice president and co-captain, winning the respect and admiration of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the highest rank that scouting offers; and WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Schmucker's dedication to excellence and his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Jordan David Schmucker on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Schmucker as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
