H.R. No. 1379 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Through quick thinking and decisive action, fifth-grader Angela Grisham saved the life of a fellow student at Sour Lake Elementary School; and WHEREAS, Students from the school were eating in the cafeteria when Miss Grisham noticed that a third-grade student was choking on his cereal; and WHEREAS, After calling for a teacher and patting the boy on the back, Miss Grisham, who is 10 years old, applied the Heimlich maneuver on the stricken child and dislodged the food that was blocking his airway; and WHEREAS, The daughter of Callye and David Windsor of Sour Lake, Miss Grisham has been recognized for her heroism with an Outstanding Citizenship Award from the Sour Lake school board; and WHEREAS, Angela Grisham's lifesaving actions helped to avert a potential tragedy, and she is a source of great pride to her family, school, and community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby commend Angela Grisham for rescuing another student and extend to her sincere best wishes for a bright and promising future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Miss Grisham as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
