| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The life of Michael Brent Jones was cut tragically |

| 6 | 6 | | short on December 21, 2003, at the age of 37, but memories of him |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | will forever endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved him; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A cherished brother and uncle, Brent Jones treasured |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | his family and kept them close after the loss of his parents; he |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | shared an especially close bond with his wife, Julie, and was |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | thrilled to be a new father, embracing the delights and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | responsibilities of parenting twins; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Jones had a zest for life that won him the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | affection of many people; he had a talent for making people laugh, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, heading to Galveston for a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | weekend of fishing, and cheering loudly for his favorite football |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | team, The University of Texas Longhorns; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Though his journey on this earth was far too brief, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the richness he bestowed on his loved ones continues to resonate in |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | their lives today; in his character, in his generosity of spirit, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and in his gift to the world of two greatly adored children, Brent |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Jones brought immeasurable joy to all who were privileged to be a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | part of his life; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Michael Brent Jones |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and extend deepest sympathy to his wife, Julie, to his children, and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Michael |
