55 WHEREAS, The life of Michael Brent Jones was cut tragically
66 short on December 21, 2003, at the age of 37, but memories of him
77 will forever endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved him;

99 WHEREAS, A cherished brother and uncle, Brent Jones treasured
1010 his family and kept them close after the loss of his parents; he
1111 shared an especially close bond with his wife, Julie, and was
1212 thrilled to be a new father, embracing the delights and
1313 responsibilities of parenting twins; and
1414 WHEREAS, Mr. Jones had a zest for life that won him the
1515 affection of many people; he had a talent for making people laugh,
1616 and he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, heading to Galveston for a
1717 weekend of fishing, and cheering loudly for his favorite football
1818 team, The University of Texas Longhorns; and
1919 WHEREAS, Though his journey on this earth was far too brief,
2020 the richness he bestowed on his loved ones continues to resonate in
2121 their lives today; in his character, in his generosity of spirit,
2222 and in his gift to the world of two greatly adored children, Brent
2323 Jones brought immeasurable joy to all who were privileged to be a
2424 part of his life; now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2626 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Michael Brent Jones
2727 and extend deepest sympathy to his wife, Julie, to his children, and
2828 to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3131 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Michael
3232 Brent Jones.
