H.R. No. 1510 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The life of Michael Brent Jones was cut tragically short on December 21, 2003, at the age of 37, but memories of him will forever endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved him; and WHEREAS, A cherished brother and uncle, Brent Jones treasured his family and kept them close after the loss of his parents; he shared an especially close bond with his wife, Julie, and was thrilled to be a new father, embracing the delights and responsibilities of parenting twins; and WHEREAS, Mr. Jones had a zest for life that won him the affection of many people; he had a talent for making people laugh, and he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, heading to Galveston for a weekend of fishing, and cheering loudly for his favorite football team, The University of Texas Longhorns; and WHEREAS, Though his journey on this earth was far too brief, the richness he bestowed on his loved ones continues to resonate in their lives today; in his character, in his generosity of spirit, and in his gift to the world of two greatly adored children, Brent Jones brought immeasurable joy to all who were privileged to be a part of his life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Michael Brent Jones and extend deepest sympathy to his wife, Julie, to his children, and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Michael Brent Jones.
