 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Olga R. Serna of Sarita has distinguished herself
 through her service to the community, and her outstanding
 leadership and generosity of spirit have earned her the heartfelt
 admiration of all who know her; and
 WHEREAS, A native of Hebbronville, Mrs. Serna settled in
 Sarita in 1958 with her husband, the late Enemorio Serna, with whom
 she shared nearly four decades before his passing; through the
 years, she has benefited the Sarita and Riviera school districts
 and the local 4-H, which she served as a leader for 26 years; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Serna has also made a positive difference
 through her efforts with a number of initiatives designed to help
 individuals in need; in addition to her work with WIC and a USDA
 program for the less fortunate, she helped to establish a food stamp
 program for area residents and founded the Kenedy County Food
 Pantry in 2003; and
 WHEREAS, Also a valued parishioner at Our Lady of Guadalupe
 Catholic Church, Mrs. Serna is active in the choir and volunteers at
 the yearly festival; she has been supported in all of her endeavors
 by a loving family that includes three children, Felix, Diana, and
 Enemorio, and four grandchildren, Dell, Enemorio, Bianca, and
 Marcella; and
 WHEREAS, Those individuals who step forward to share their
 time with others are indeed deserving of our profound gratitude,
 and it is a pleasure to honor Mrs. Serna, who has enriched the lives
 of countless others with her dedicated community service; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Olga R. Serna for her noteworthy service
 to the people of Sarita and extend to her sincere best wishes for
 the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mrs. Serna as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
