| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned five |

| 6 | 6 | | decades, Bennie and Carolyn Blakey of Mineola celebrated their 50th |

| 7 | 7 | | wedding anniversary on February 14, 2009; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Bennie Blakey and the former Carolyn Connelly |

| 9 | 9 | | exchanged the vows of matrimony in Plano on that special day in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 1959, and over the course of their marriage, they have found in each |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | other a devoted life partner; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Blakey count among their blessings a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | fine family that includes two children and their spouses, Brian and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | April Blakey and Beth and Bobby Johnson, as well as four |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | grandchildren; Mr. Blakey retired from Texas Instruments after 35 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | years, and Mrs. Blakey enjoyed a 30-year career in the banking |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | industry; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Looking back over the past half-century, Bennie and |

| 19 | 19 | | Carolyn Blakey can savor a wealth of cherished family memories and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that |

| 21 | 21 | | more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Bennie and Carolyn Blakey on their |
