H.R. No. 1676 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends of Margaret Gilder Nesbitt of Waco, who passed away on March 5, 2009, at the age of 91; and WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Margaret Nesbitt was born in Gatesville on October 17, 1917; she graduated from Gatesville High School and attended Baylor University, where she was a member of the Athenian Club and secretary of her class; in 1936, she married William Nesbitt, with whom she shared more than three decades and raised three children, Nancy, Mary Margaret, and Bill; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Nesbitt served as secretary to the principal of Gatesville Elementary School and later became director of South Russell Hall at Baylor University; active in the Gatesville community, she attended First Baptist Church, where she taught the Bykota Sunday School class; after moving to Waco in 1994, she joined Columbus Avenue Baptist Church and further shared her time with P.E.O. Daughters of the American Revolution, Baylor Adult Senior Choir, Friday Forum, Baylor Alumni Association, and Baylor Heritage Club; and WHEREAS, Although Margaret Gilder Nesbitt is deeply missed, she will forever be remembered with great admiration and affection by all those who held her dear; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Margaret Gilder Nesbitt and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her daughters, Nancy Tindall and her husband, Steve, and Mary Margaret Hunt and her husband, Don; to her son, Bill Nesbitt, and his wife, Dwana; to her grandchildren, Ann Vawter and her husband, Mike, Janet Porter and her husband, Joel, Melanie Eddolls and her husband, Tony, Jon Hunt and his wife, Nicole, Allison Hillard and her husband, Joe, Bill Nesbitt and his wife, Sunita, Tom Nesbitt and his wife, Nancy, Joe Nesbitt and his wife, Amanda, Kristen Nesbitt, Brady Nesbitt, and Brett Jackson; to her 15 great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Margaret Gilder Nesbitt.
