| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

| 6 | 6 | | by a great and enduring love, Jack and Cathryn Garrison of Elm Mott |

| 7 | 7 | | celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on September 18, 2007; |

| 8 | 8 | | and |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Garrison were united in matrimony on |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | that special day in 1937; through the years, they have nurtured a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | addition of two sons and their wives, Jack and his wife, Marianne, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and Larry and his wife, Chandra; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Garrison retired from Texas State Technical |

| 15 | 15 | | College and has been a rancher and cattleman; Mrs. Garrison is a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | homemaker; the couple are members of Elm Mott United Methodist |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Church; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | seven decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Jack and Cathryn Garrison on |

| 25 | 25 | | reaching the notable milestone of their 70th wedding anniversary |

| 26 | 26 | | and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; |
