44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
66 by a great and enduring love, Jack and Cathryn Garrison of Elm Mott
77 celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on September 18, 2007;
88 and
99 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Garrison were united in matrimony on
1010 that special day in 1937; through the years, they have nurtured a
1111 fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the
1212 addition of two sons and their wives, Jack and his wife, Marianne,
1313 and Larry and his wife, Chandra; and
1414 WHEREAS, Mr. Garrison retired from Texas State Technical
1515 College and has been a rancher and cattleman; Mrs. Garrison is a
1616 homemaker; the couple are members of Elm Mott United Methodist
1717 Church; and
1818 WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
1919 seven decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
2020 in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love
2121 has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
2222 grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
2424 Legislature hereby congratulate Jack and Cathryn Garrison on
2525 reaching the notable milestone of their 70th wedding anniversary
2626 and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness;
2727 and, be it further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Garrison as an expression of high regard
3030 by the Texas House of Representatives.
