 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
 by a great and enduring love, Jack and Cathryn Garrison of Elm Mott
 celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on September 18, 2007;
 and
 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Garrison were united in matrimony on
 that special day in 1937; through the years, they have nurtured a
 fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the
 addition of two sons and their wives, Jack and his wife, Marianne,
 and Larry and his wife, Chandra; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Garrison retired from Texas State Technical
 College and has been a rancher and cattleman; Mrs. Garrison is a
 homemaker; the couple are members of Elm Mott United Methodist
 Church; and
 WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
 seven decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
 in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love
 has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
 grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Jack and Cathryn Garrison on
 reaching the notable milestone of their 70th wedding anniversary
 and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness;
 and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Garrison as an expression of high regard
 by the Texas House of Representatives.
