44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Mary S.
66 Wallace of San Antonio, who passed away on April 14, 2009, at the
77 age of 86; and
88 WHEREAS, Born on June 2, 1922, the former Mary Spiller was the
99 daughter of Mary and W. W. Spiller; she was joined in marriage with
1010 Robert K. Wallace, and the couple enjoyed a rewarding relationship
1111 until Mr. Wallace passed away; in addition, Mrs. Wallace was the
1212 mother of one son, Edward; and
1313 WHEREAS, Deeply involved in her community, Mrs. Wallace was a
1414 member of such diverse organizations as the Keep San Antonio
1515 Beautiful Committee, the City Crime Commission, and the planning
1616 committee for Brooks City-Base; moreover, she helped found the
1717 Southeast Highland Hills Good Neighbor Crime Watch and the
1818 Highlands Community Alliance, and she was a member of the South San
1919 Antonio Chamber of Commerce Board and the National Association of
2020 Women in Construction; and
2121 WHEREAS, Mrs. Wallace was an avid golfer who took part in
2222 numerous tournaments throughout the Lone Star State, and she
2323 particularly enjoyed couples' events and competitions organized by
2424 the Executive Women's Golf Association, of which she was a member;
2525 she also belonged to the Devine Women's Golf Association and made
2626 numerous friends during the many years she played at the Devine Golf
2727 Course; and
2828 WHEREAS, Mary Wallace led an active, caring, and purposeful
2929 life, and she will forever hold a treasured place in the hearts of
3030 her loved ones; now, therefore, be it
3131 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
3232 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mary S. Wallace and
3333 extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her son,
3434 Edward H. Littell, Jr.; to her sister, Berniece Wittkopf; to her
3535 brothers, James and Lowell Spiller; and to her other relatives and
3636 friends; and, be it further
3737 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3838 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
3939 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary
4040 Wallace.
