 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Mary S.
 Wallace of San Antonio, who passed away on April 14, 2009, at the
 age of 86; and
 WHEREAS, Born on June 2, 1922, the former Mary Spiller was the
 daughter of Mary and W. W. Spiller; she was joined in marriage with
 Robert K. Wallace, and the couple enjoyed a rewarding relationship
 until Mr. Wallace passed away; in addition, Mrs. Wallace was the
 mother of one son, Edward; and
 WHEREAS, Deeply involved in her community, Mrs. Wallace was a
 member of such diverse organizations as the Keep San Antonio
 Beautiful Committee, the City Crime Commission, and the planning
 committee for Brooks City-Base; moreover, she helped found the
 Southeast Highland Hills Good Neighbor Crime Watch and the
 Highlands Community Alliance, and she was a member of the South San
 Antonio Chamber of Commerce Board and the National Association of
 Women in Construction; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Wallace was an avid golfer who took part in
 numerous tournaments throughout the Lone Star State, and she
 particularly enjoyed couples' events and competitions organized by
 the Executive Women's Golf Association, of which she was a member;
 she also belonged to the Devine Women's Golf Association and made
 numerous friends during the many years she played at the Devine Golf
 Course; and
 WHEREAS, Mary Wallace led an active, caring, and purposeful
 life, and she will forever hold a treasured place in the hearts of
 her loved ones; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mary S. Wallace and
 extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her son,
 Edward H. Littell, Jr.; to her sister, Berniece Wittkopf; to her
 brothers, James and Lowell Spiller; and to her other relatives and
 friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary
 Wallace.
