| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Jimmy Stallings of Martin County was recognized for |

| 6 | 6 | | his philanthropic work by the Permian Basin Area Foundation at its |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | annual Donor Grantee Reception in Midland on April 20, 2009; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, An accountant with 51 years of experience in the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | financial industry, Mr. Stallings has long been a leader in his |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | community, generously contributing time and money to foundations |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and nonprofit organizations in West Texas; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, This caring gentleman played a vital role in the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | creation of the Martin County Community Funds, a consortium of 12 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | community funds administered by the Permian Basin Area Foundation, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and he has helped review student applications for college |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | scholarships distributed by the funds; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Stallings has also contributed his time by |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | serving on the boards of the Midland Memorial Hospital Foundation |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and Aphasia Center of West Texas; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The communities of Texas benefit greatly from the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | generosity and dedicated service of engaged citizens, and Jimmy |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Stallings may indeed take great pride in his selfless work in behalf |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of others; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Jimmy Stallings on his |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | well-deserved recognition by the Permian Basin Area Foundation and |

| 27 | 27 | | commend him for his long record of good works; and, be it further |
